Ashfield Land and Topgolf host topping out ceremony for Scotland’s first Topgolf attraction
On Tuesday, Ashfield Land celebrated an important construction milestone with the ‘topping out’ of the new Topgolf at its Two 74 development in Rutherglen, Glasgow.
Ashfield Land and Topgolf’s Vice President of International, Steve Lane, hosted many of their partners that helped to bring Topgolf to Rutherglen, including Clyde Gateway, South Lanarkshire Council, Scottish Enterprise, Luddon Construction and the talented design team.
The new facility will be the first Topgolf in Scotland, with the leisure operator seeing the site as a unique and exciting opportunity to expand its global footprint.
The 45,000 sq ft golfing attraction is scheduled to open at the end of the year and will feature a three-tiered driving range with 72 climate-controlled outdoor hitting bays.
Steven McGarva, Development Director at Ashfield Land, said: “It was fantastic to celebrate this important milestone with so many of our partners that helped bring Topgolf to Glasgow, as well as our talented construction and design teams.
“The new Topgolf at Two 74 is will create approximately 300 new jobs and deliver a multi-million pound investment for Rutherglen. I’m sure it’ll be a huge success and be extremely popular with the people of Glasgow when it opens next year.”
Two 74 lies at Junction 2 of the M74 and is part of Clyde Gateway, Scotland’s biggest and most ambitious regeneration programme.
