Andrew is a vastly experienced property professional with a career that started as a trainee surveyor at Hartnell Taylor Cook and now sees him managing our growing national business.

With expertise right across the spectrum and a particular focus on site acquisitions and company strategy, Andrew brings knowledge, experience and a comprehensive understanding of the property market to all aspects of our work.

Andrew is based in our Bristol office and works nationwide. Having had the vision to co-found Ashfield Land, Andrew is focused on delivering quality developments and projects that will contribute to the long-term success of the firm and the partners with whom we operate.

Robin has been involved in building the business from the start, co-founding the company in 1990. He is the group’s Finance Director and has responsibility across strategic planning and funding.

A qualified Chartered Accountant by background (with KPMG), Robin moved into property to combine his financial and funding skills with the opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic property business like Ashfield Land.

Robin’s expertise and knowledge have been central to building the business and its portfolio of successful projects and investments.

Outside Ashfield Land, Robin also holds a number of non-executive directorships helping him bring a wider view into the business.

Ian Playford, former Group Property Director at Kingfisher and Chief Executive of the Government Property Agency, joined Ashfield Land in 2019.

Claire is responsible for coordinating the planning process across all of the offices. Having spent nearly 10 years at Turley prior to joining Ashfield Land, Claire is a planner with a wide-range of experience across commercial and residential property.

Coordinating projects from major logistics/distribution development to town centre renewal, retail and leisure, Claire has developed a comprehensive range of experience and brings this to all of her projects.

Claire joined Ashfield Land in 2015. She is a Chartered Town Planner and Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

Focused on quality, sustainability and deliverability, Claire combines a well-developed understanding of what makes a successful scheme with a clear knowledge of how to achieve it.

Ben joined Ashfield Land in 2022 and heads our London office. He works nationwide across residential, commercial and mixed-use projects with a particular interest in opportunities in London and the South East.

With 15+ years in the industry, Ben has rounded real estate experience and a solid appreciation for what makes schemes successful.

Prior to joining Ashfield Land, Ben was a Director at Richardsons where he was responsible for asset management, investment, development and a number of JV businesses. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor whose career also includes earlier roles with Sanderson Weatherall and Banks Long & Co.

Steven leads our work in Scotland and heads up our Glasgow office.

He combines comprehensive public and private sector experience to deliver quality projects and assured results.

Steven joined Ashfield Land in 2014 and is central to the recent expansion of our portfolio of development and investment work within Scotland.

Prior to joining Ashfield Land, Steven was a Director with Scottish Enterprise, a Board Director with the Elphinstone Group, and a Partner with Graham + Sibbald where he was responsible for development consultancy, planning and asset management.
