PureGym opens at Ashfield Land’s Two74
11 Mar 2025

Glasgow’s newest PureGym will open its doors at Ashfield Land’s Two 74 development on 14 March 2025, providing a new state-of-the-art gym with 24/7 access.
Ashfield Land has invested over £2 million to deliver the new PureGym building, working with local contractor, CM Steel Buildings Ltd, who led construction of the 12,500 sq ft building.
Alongside the new gym, there is an electric vehicle (EV) charging facility for visitors, solar panels on the building and other energy saving measures. The fit-out was completed by PureGym, achieving an EPC A rating.
The new PureGym will add to the mix of leisure facilities at Two 74 alongside Scotland’s first Topgolf facility, which has been a successful addition to the local area since opening in December 2022.
Declan O’Neill, Associate at Ashfield Land, said: “PureGym is an excellent addition to our Two74 development in Rutherglen and strengthens the leisure offering alongside Topgolf. We worked with a local supply chain to deliver the building and EV charging, supporting local jobs and delivering a range of economic benefits. It’s been a pleasure working with PureGym and our construction team and we look forward to seeing the facility flourish.”
A spokesperson for PureGym said: “Following sustained demand for our flexible, affordable fitness offering in Glasgow, we are delighted to be expanding our presence in the city and opening a brandnew gym in Rutherglen. The c.12,500 sq. ft. gym will be located just off Cunninghame Road, nearby to Topgolf, and provide members with nonstop access to state-of-the-art facilities through our low-cost, zero-contract memberships.
"The club will be our 11th in Glasgow and a brilliant addition to the Rutherglen community, creating nine new jobs in the thriving health and fitness sector. We look forward to welcoming members through the doors of PureGym Glasgow Rutherglen on 14th March – look out for our opening offer.”
Planning permission for the new PureGym was granted by South Lanarkshire Council in the autumn 2023.
The wider design team included Cooper Cromar Architect, DSSR services consultant, WRD civil and structural engineers, and Currie and Brown as the employer’s agent, cost consultant, and principledesigner.
Two 74 is situated off Cambuslang Road adjacent to Junction 2 of the M74 and is part of Clyde Gateway, Scotland’s biggest and most ambitious regeneration programme.
