BCO judges to visit St Catherine's Court

The judging panel for the prestigious British Council of Offices (BCO) Awards 2010 have announced their visit to St Catherine’s Court on the 25th February in order to appraise the building in the Commercial Workplace category for the South West of England and South Wales.
As it is recognised that the opportunities and challenges set by each shortlisted development are different and diverse, in making their assessment the judges will assess amongst other factors:
- The project aims and rationale
- Utility and quality of the final build
- Specification and design solutions
- Effectiveness as a workplace
- Enterprise and innovation
- Value, cost and programme
- Energy and sustainability
- Local context and impact
- Lifting the spirits
Significantly, the BCO Awards 2010 is likely to benefit from a record year of completions for the sector, against a backdrop of serious economic uncertainty, the National Judging Statement is outlined below:
“There will be no bull market to paper over the cracks of deficiencies, either in construction or fit-out. Therefore, the process of judging, awarding and celebrating the exemplars of our collective output will allow the occupier or client to identify the best amongst the crowd.”
The winners will be announced at an Awards Dinner taking place in Bristol on 13th May 2010, before continuing on to compete with other regions at the National Awards in October 2010.
