Ashfield Land acquired this highly contaminated site unconditionally from the receivers within weeks of identifying the opportunity.

We had the vision to foresee that this highly prominent land could, with the benefit of a “hands on” approach to remediation coupled with a sensible planning solution could be successfully regenerated.

Working in conjunction with Advantage West Midlands (a former RDA for the region) Ashfield addressed the issues of the existing state of the site, namely a former metal plating works which was recognised by the Regulator as a serious environmental problem.

Bespoke Risk Assessment models reflecting specific site aspects (including Hexavalent chromium were applied to enable the remediation that successfully met the required environmental targets.

In tandem with the remediation, Ashfield received detailed planning consent for a scheme that best utilised the profile and dimensions of the land to ultimately create a very successful trade park with high profile occupiers such as Magnet, Screwfix, Howdens Joinery, Crown, Cardline and Storage King.

The quality of the development and its exceptional location have seen record levels being achieved in terms of rental and sales figures in the area.
